Description

The MX 48F is the latest lure to be added to our Premium Hard Bait range. Designed for bream anglers, this suspending minnow style lure fills the void in sub surface, purpose built, suspending bream lures. This lure has been designed to enable anglers to temp the most lure shy bream in the clearest of conditions.
Diving to around one foot this lure is ultra versatile. The MX will deliver experienced tournament anglers optimum action and suspension qualities that are only seen in the ECOGEAR range of lures. Being able to suspend mid-water, this lure has the potential to be fished over a wide amount of structures in varied depth ranges.

Swimming Action

Slow, very tight body roll

Target Fish
Throughout our extensive testing period, the MX proved to be the perfect sized bream flats lure that can be cast long distances and fished in the shallowest of conditions. Other species include whiting, flathead, trout (rainbow/brown), bass, perch, tailor, Australian salmon and most species that live in the shallows or readily feed in the upper sector of the water column will readily eat a well presented MX.
Target Structure

This lure has been designed for flats fishing or skinny water but can successfully utilized fishing alongside floating pontoons, boat hulls, jetties or bridge pylons.
Flats - this lure can be successfully fished over weed, sand, reef or rocked flats where water depth is an issue for most lures. Target the shallowest of water casting towards contour or subtle depth changes in the bottom structure where fish wait in ambush.
Skinny Water – The MX’s suspending capabilities make it great for fishing shallow creeks and drains exploring the deeper holes.
Floating Pontoons – theses type of structures hold large amounts of bream that take full advantage of the shade and constant food source that grows alongside and underneath the pontoon.
Boat Hulls – are much like floating pontoons, they attract bream by having constant shade and a readily available food source. Fish will still hold on boat hulls even if they have been recently painted or cleaned because boat hulls have great areas for fish to hold ‘out’ of the current in ambush of food. Target both leading edges, pausing the MX allowing it to drift with the current close to the bottom of the hull.
Jetties / Bridge Pylons – bream like to hold in the eddies created by the pylons so targeting each individual pylon is a must. Cast the MX past the pylons and twitch the lure to its required depth then stop the retrieve and suspend the lure as the current drifts it past each pylon.

Retrieve Technique

This lure can be slow rolled in a constant retrieve but imparting action in the lure is much better. By slowly twitching the rod tip in a downward ‘dog-walking’ motion, the MX comes to life displaying erratic sideways actions. Combined with constant pauses allowing the MX to sit motionless, hovering in the face of its intended victim entices solid hookups on the wariest of fish.
The added advantage of having the lure suspend, allows the angler to drift the lure under pontoons or snags then continue the retrieve where normal floating lures cannot reach.

Reccomended Outfit

Nories RBT610LS or Nories 680LS – both rods cast the MX very long distances and allow the angler complete control over lure and fish.
Reels – 1000 to 2500 size spinning reel
Line – 1kg to 2kg braids or fused line
Leader – 1kg to 3kg fluorocarbon leader

Colour Choice
As a general rule, use natural baitfish colours on fine days and in clear water, and bright colours on overcast days and in muddy waters.
